Background

For Schneider, the job as an artist is to prepare non-programmed content in such a way that, without causing an (additional) suggestion, it has a lasting effect on the viewer. Something should become clear to him when he visualizes the work. The word should underline this fact. The work should stand for itself and thus cause it by itself that one understands what it is about.

This is how he proceeds at work. But this presupposes a calm contact with himself. He prepares such a way in the run-up of the emergence of his writings and works by some meditative collection. There he finds himself and also wants to exist as he is.

He does not apply any special technical procedure for the formation of his works. That imaging and language finding will be therefore rather no constructive shaping, but they would have come about rather as that according to an imaging and revealing procedure. This is what he likes to call the way it really happened with him. Exactly in such a way he has handled it, as it has happened there. All his works have referred to the inner happening with Schneider, even if they have not necessarily reproduced it 1: 1.
