Welcome, Welcome, Bienvenue

Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

It is a pleasure for me that you have visited my website today. I have tried to describe here my own things correctly and also in detail for you. I do this so that you will like it in form and content, what you will find here. Please be now but first of all warmly greeted by me.

Now I would like to introduce myself with a few words, so that you get a picture of my person. My name is Mathias Schneider. I live and work in the city of Offenburg. It is located in the Ortenau, which is a county in the southwest of Germany in the Baden region. On the Internet I am active as an artist. I call my art form 'Art-Trash'.

The city of Offenburg is located approximately on the same level as Strasbourg. This is a large French city in Alsace, which borders Baden. It is located in the immediate vicinity of my hometown. Alsace and Baden are separated by the Rhine and the French-German border there. The area here is geographically called the Upper Rhine Plain. It is located between the two low mountain ranges of the Black Forest and the Vosges.

When dealing with the internet I spontaneously became a designer of some weblogs and wikis when a first opportunity presented itself. The page here (https://totan-drake.brangassivo.de/) is also one of my installations on the web. I use a platform from Google for it, but I write independent material. On it I have gathered everything important about my work as an artist and presented it for you. It is the big 'head page' of my so-called 'construction kit'. Thereby I work out here essential basics for my work creation.

The contents are put into words by me and are intended for publication soon. I would like to do so, although sometimes they have a deeper meaning for my own existence. I hope it that my writings find with you to a certain appeal.

The existence of me stands under the star of the arts which I have preserved so far. There I have cultivated the given, as I have just been able to afford it. Thanks to my writings I have already found many an access to hidden parts of my existence. There I have considered and prepared something for it.

I try to give myself a certain perspective on life by working on my own things. That is why I prepare my art work with a show of works.

Assignment of my work

My work is called 'value-free' by me on the Internet. I have chosen the term 'Art-Trash' to paraphrase my art thing. I have done so because my pictures were not a commercial commodity. My style of work is unconventional. I do not work on significant motifs. With work I go sometimes special ways.

The term 'art trash' is not meant to embody an independent art movement. That would be a few numbers too big for it. Rather, it should be something that basically anyone can do who has the leisure for it. Thanks to my commitment to such a classification, it will now be possible for me to make clear to you my attitude towards it.

There I wait until I feel like painting. The simple motif is my theme. My color compositions would like to be compared with such tone gradients, as they have my music. The movement of the hands used in their creation leads to the kind of shaping in my work. I accept my own property as it is. I do this in order to be able to shape something that really exists. To be artistically active should be an opportunity to actively promote.

I feel that creating my own work is an adventure. What will I be able to gain along the way? - That still remains unimagined, because a future is just like that.

I would like to create such things as I know them well. Such I can assign to each other and understand. There the motives should arise from itself on the basis of the treasure of my thoughts and ideas for me. What has meant something to me, that I represent. Sometimes this has been a viable way for me. Other people would like to have chosen other motives and forms for themselves in order to achieve their own. Nevertheless, I assume that they also have their own approaches to what they do.

The motive

A simple motif can also have an actual value. Such a value should appear clearly perceptible.

I intuitively determine the content of my paintings during the creation of the work. What has arisen with me, I usually also depict. Thus the picture forms with me during a show of the given.

Something certain may be inscribed in it with pleasure. This would be found in the things which exist per se. The picture, the brush, the color, the painting medium, the painter, the motive, the empty sheet and the own form are to be the constant parts of that thing, around which it was a matter for me.

Documentation

My way

Certainly, it would not be the preservation of the gifts of a man alone what has formed his work into something good. Importance for it will have also the degree of his attentiveness. It should teach him how to recognize the good in himself. Thereupon one will know how to put it into practice soon.

It will probably be the intelligent performance of a person, which enabled him to reproduce something accurately. However, it will also be his compassion that gives him access to other people. This should teach us to respond to things according to their value. The principle for such a subject should be as follows. Every person has a form for himself, which is well suited to him. Therefore, for each person there should be a valid and viable path, which he can follow.

Sometimes something good will come out of it. That is what we are supposed to preserve. This is what we have oriented ourselves to in our activity, what we have perceived of it. It has suited us, so it should also be good for something. The existence of an artist seems to me to be so important just because of a release of the works for the representation of his ability. The truthful grasping of natural occurrences of a human existence lies thereby in the framework of the conceivable and possible. Also a downstream success is to be one.

Since the images, like the words, are also to be understood as documentations of that improbable power of a person, such things have also brought with them a meaning for life. Thus they have appeared to us as something significant. Something they carry clearly perceptible, what we are ready to take up. Everything is to be hidden in the area of the obvious what there is to see for us. There should be an image almost as empty as the night sky. It carries the stars, which have already once offered us an orientation. Something comparable to it should make up the true value of that what is given to us people.

I have become art-creative, because I can complete thereby the existing forms as well as their coloring. Thus, those actions have appeared to me as conclusive, as they have arisen with me, while I have designed something of my own.

Impulse

Interjection

I would like to avoid to anticipate judgmental statements to my things. If mine will also be so, as it has prospered so far, nevertheless something good shall become true through it once. What this can bring along for me, shall be enough for me.

Documentation

My services

The production of the mostly self-designed motifs takes place with me with the known techniques of watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil and ink. This has been my previous focus of activity as an artist. I paint and draw to this day. I have been doing this since my youth. A representation of the incidents of a human existence I have realized.

It is to be given in such a way that some other people in my environment, which did not become active so far art-creative, already knew to say to me sometimes so many true word to it, what I do there. There I listen to them again and again with pleasure. Without paying sufficient attention to the actual ability of my fellow men, I would not be able to accomplish much worth mentioning, as it has already happened. Of that I am already sure.

What I have created so far should not have merely pleased other people. Rather, it has outlined the whole of a human existence as it has been for me.

Conclusion of the letter

That development of the work show of me, Mathias Schneider lasts now already since the year 2006. At that time I operated a first homepage and published a few watercolors on Flickr. Since 2009 I work with a program from Google, which is called Google Sites.

There would be certainly still some further to consider what will be significant for an understanding of my things. But everything happens with a certain calmness. Now I would like to thank you for your attention and wish you much joy in dealing with my work show. Thus I remain

With kind regards

An introductory letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

It has been a matter of concern to me to be able to make the presentation of the artistic work of mine accessible to you with the website here.

I have taken the trouble with the preparation of my work show, to show it to you in detail, which thoughts and ideas I have already worked out to it. Thereby the things of me will reveal no actual secrets. What I have done there is supposed to be something ordinary. It would be also rightly so to call. My works of art would like to have appeared to you perhaps at the first sight fancy. However, it has been the slightly clumsy kind of me what has made the work mainly what it appears as nowadays.

I like to be an artist who can stand before the critical eyes of art connoisseurs. I therefore exhibit my pictures here in a bright light, so that they are seen as they are. I have gladly spoken of the successful, but also the still misunderstood parts of it not always unmentioned.

With it I tried it to show the past ways of my artistic occupation well understandably. The requirements, which are to be fulfilled thereby by me, I recognized as a chance for me.

In the representation of those facts I am honestly endeavored to explain with a certain clarity what is given to me. In the meantime, I am making good use of my strength in my work.

Meanwhile I have searched for a suitable basis for my work. I have found such a one for myself by means of the language design and prepared something to read. In the process, the file 'construction kit' has emerged.

I have wished it that something named here is accepted by the viewers willingly. So I hope that something of it will also please you.

With kind regards

'Art-Trash' - Being at peace

By 'Art-Trash' Mathias Schneider has understood an art form which would not really leave anything out. Man should be allowed to be creative in his own work as he is. He would not need to force himself to imitate the forms of other artists, but can trust that his own work would not be without an actual benefit for others and himself. In order to preserve a uniqueness of the own, a man will have to remain only with himself in the pure.

A set-up of one's own works away from an already existing scene in the manner of 'trash' should provide the artist with a space necessary for his work creation to create independently elaborated things. They are what he certainly needs to ensure a certain progress with himself. Since one as a human being does not want to assign any other value to his own work from the outset than that which it is already able to carry by itself, one knows it that each work should stand for itself. Especially then, if it is something independently formed, the work is regarded in principle first of all as one is perceived as a person also by his fellow men. There everything would be to be assumed as free from a meaning for other people. That will be nevertheless alone only paper with spread color. Thus one remains for the thing of the art free from exaggerated expectations and will be able to exist therefore also well. One will have to think about the thing of oneself again and again, if one wants to go the way of an art creator.

Schneider approaches this in his own way. With it he tries to save himself from exaggerating himself to others in an inappropriate way. The spread of those things designed by him is to serve once to find a proper use for them.

The activity at such a thing like the art is to be understood already as a success of the respective person. The corresponding works should equip the own fund as teaching pieces. Thus the manual work becomes the basis of a completion of the own way.

'Art-Trash' - art on a simple level

Whether you want to believe it or not, the genre 'art-trash', as Schneider understood it, is meant to leave some room for an ordinary person to create even unusual works. This thing holds some healthy potential. If the ordinary person would also be a person who creates the arts, then certainly some things could change for the better for him. This will probably be true even if he is already doing well with his life.

It would be the same in which area of the design someone would like to be active there. The author has not simply listed the possible areas here. Such a list would not be to be written conclusively. People are very creative in such matters. They always find new tasks for themselves.

A person's desire for activity would be welcomed. It should be approved of if someone wants to keep himself busy. In doing so, he can learn something. In this way, a person consolidates his knowledge. This will give him some strength in the long run. It should also open up additional areas of experience for him.

The decisive factor for a person's success should be that he promotes himself with his own means. Such usually remain with him afterwards.

It takes many an opportunity in life to equip ourselves with materials. The tasks set for us make this necessary. We have to get them in time so that we always have something we want to work with. In this way, we can be creative whenever we feel like it.

Summary of my work on the 'construction kit' card index

Continuous reading of the texts in my card index has made me think. It made me wonder if they are good for something good for other people. Since then, I have been looking for a way to improve my work, and I take the appropriate opportunities to do so for myself.

The card index exists now already since the year 2011. With the help of him I succeed in determining exactly a fund of my own making which can be called up in the Internet. I determine with it what corresponds to me. Afterwards I like to read and deal with what I have created. In doing so, I compare what is said with my attitude in everyday life. Soon I realized that I can acquire something good by means of this thing. Sometimes I read the texts aloud to myself to get a better feeling for them.

Those writings, which I have already created, are to correspond with my present thoughts and ideas, as they are. For this purpose I look at them. Then they have been represented correctly by me if I have succeeded to put something into the right light with them. The action of a person should be directed to his existence. Everything else will be able to arise only afterwards with us. With a certain joy thereby I work out my works.

With the health of the heart of an artist I form the own good in my existence. A conception of the things of my life I operate with it in detail. I represent everything so that it pleases me well.

Greetings

Mathias Schneider

Letter of motivation

From time to time one would like to draw a line at oneself and look at what has become of one's own thoughts and ideas in the meantime. Have the previous efforts contributed something suitable to the fact that these things succeed now already well? - In carrying out a corresponding reflection, one would not infrequently also find some opportunity to determine something of it, which has weight for how one approaches one's things. I take up this willingly. In my case it is to be in such a way that I write down also gladly something of it, what I have thought about it. It has certainly not been little what I have noted down there within those narrow boundary lines of my card index.

My main concern in the preparation of my existence is to use the tool of language creation beneficially for me. I would like to work out a representation of the concerns of my life with it. I also strive to improve my linguistic skills. For this purpose I am establishing a base of texts for myself. This 'castle' of words, as I have called it before, should be one that gives me a secure support.

Starting from a formerly bad state of me, I now walk my way step by step, but in a cyclical way and explore the closer environment. Thereby I would like to achieve it that I bring my things with constancy to ways.

There I have often named my own. I try to trace my way of life in such a way, also so that a certain life happiness will be to be reached by me soon.

I have found that to be righteous. I challenge myself because I preserve what is mine. That has stabilized me, that I have spoken out about myself. For me, an opinion has always been the valid word on a matter that has also affected the person himself. That's how it presents itself. There I have operated with my work show rightly a positional listing of my thought and idea world. I dress everything in words, which have something to do with their own existence as a human being.

With it I go the way of a description of my motives in the life. I explain here besides my artistic work, show meanwhile also the work. It should be of a simple kind.

I certainly know it well that my works have not been demanded by other people before. I do everything here therefore from an own impulse. With this I want to ensure something for myself, which is as I needed it.

It should be enough for me what I get from it, that I am able to accomplish this. The way it has become, I would like to preserve it.

Thanks for reading through

With kind regards

Mathias Schneider

Bios

A short word about Mathias Schneider, *1975, written by him in the third person.

A life in the spirit of an interest in the works and the activity of other people has led the Offenburg artist Mathias Schneider, in first attempts, according to his own thoughts and ideas thereby, to work out smaller own writings and also some simply held pictures. To this occupation kind he holds continuously.

He also likes to read good, old books on existential topics. So he deals with some literature from Asia as well as with the medieval reading of Europe from the time of the Renaissance. Esotericism, along with the history of mankind and its religions, have been the main areas from which he has been able to draw something for himself. He constantly examined and weighted his stock of books.

Other people's works of art have sometimes moved him a great deal. He often feels a deep significance of such works when he looks at them.

The preoccupation with painting has accompanied him on his paths through life since early childhood. At the age of 12 at the latest, he began to paint with pastels, pencils and charcoal with some artistic interest. Soon after, his mother's watercolor box has also become a permanent part of the equipment with such utensils. Paper was available to him in sufficiently large quantities in the form of cut, lightly tinted sheets from a local paper mill. There he has often been active in this way.

At the latest when he reached the age of 19, Schneider then bought his material for the art thing with his own means. At that time he started painting or drawing again after an almost two-year, energy-sapping abstinence from it. In the process, colored pencils, oil paints, ink, as well as many better types of paper were newly added to his supply of materials. He also worked with soapstone for a while.

Since he was set on such an artistic work, he really took enough time for it. So he practiced a lot at that stage of his life. Some of the paintings have been preserved. Even when you want to see that the early works were created by a beginner without the guidance of a teacher or art educator, he exhibited them online on the Internet and did not keep them hidden from you. This reinforces his backbone. These works continue to enrich his fund of his own pictorial ideas to this day.

At the same time, he began to write. It grew out of an initially very inconspicuous urge. He wanted to document his experience in practicing and rehearsing asanas, which are postures from the field of hatha yoga. He did so after feeling prompted to do so by a book by Ngakpa Chögyam on the 'Journey into Inner Space'. Moreover, he has also been prompted elsewhere to engage in writing his own texts. For instance, he has been asked to create a diary. Schneider soon reached the limits of his linguistic possibilities.

When he recognized the difficulties that applied to him, Schneider made it his task to at least be able to describe in words what had characterized and moved him in his existence up to that point. Courageously, he soon wrote a hundred pages of text, sometimes orderly in himself, sometimes chaotically impulsive and restless in his own behavior. For many years he then tried to improve his pronunciation and his own writing with the help of speech formation.

His former school education has been of some benefit to him. His basic knowledge of Latin, French, English and German, as well as the large number of books he had read, certainly contributed to his ability to do this. Such conversations with intellectually much more mature personalities probably did not do any harm either, which Schneider was pleased about afterwards.

Some of the good things gradually became more tangible to him during the writing process than they had been before. He understood some things correctly for the first time. Thanks to his markedly reflective nature, Schneider was also able to extract something further from many things, which was not insignificant. The circle of his actions has closed again and again with him.

This work with the German language helped him continuously to orientate himself in a spiritual-structural way. In the process, he has reorganized himself from time to time. In this way he was able to create something of his own, which he is now able to read again and again during his hours of 'devotion'.

With the continual reading of such texts, something has been set in motion in him that defines him. He now documents his own existence with linguistic means. In the process, he gradually takes note of his basis for life.

With the increasing goodness of his own texts, he has managed to free himself somewhat more from the dominance of other people's activity and drive. In the meantime, he already succeeds in spontaneously distancing himself from something like that, which once influenced him without an own desire for it.

Nowadays, thanks to the support of some of his friends, he has already achieved an improved starting point for his artistic cause. People stand by him and encourage each other with their own goods. In the process, many a stone has already started rolling and has contributed something to the improvement of the everyday situation. Sometimes the own success is still checked at smaller targets and the own power development is rehearsed thereby that one is active at something, which prepares a joy.

Nowadays, Schneider is very fond of writing about such things as have already occurred here in his card index in a certain abundance. In doing so, he makes a point of ensuring that what he creates turns out to be original.

A fundamental preference for people with an upright attitude of mind is given to him. Everything else in his existence results from such an attitude, as he knows. This is so good for his cause.

Following a suggestion from outside, Schneider compared his creations with the latest feelings of his mind and found many an expression for what spontaneously appeared in his emotions. Instead of rejecting his works, he has rather accepted them and let them count for something good.

Although much of it has been little "square", he has done that. In this way he has taken up and preserved the taste of his imaginary world. Coming from

a painting with strong colors and with definite forms, he has explored a nuance of it in the course of the years, established and also explored many different ways of creation.

To give a clear expression to his feelings structured his inner world, but also left something empty in its original state as it had been. Not everything originating from us humans would be equally malleable. Some of it has also been light. So it is to be preserved meanwhile as it has been, so that it can be what it is. That will have to be implemented to some extent consistently, so that one exists in the way before other people with his views.

That's where Schneider got his orientation in his work creation. A show of his works can lead to a reflection of a person's consciousness. Each individual approaches the same thing with different feelings. Meanwhile, in accordance with his own will, Mathias Schneider has pursued a standardization of his things, perceiving and recognizing them as a whole for the whole, even if they have not always succeeded sufficiently well.

A path of life of man should serve that one walks on it. There is no need for anyone to strut, but no need for anyone to stumble, just to get ahead on such a path. With modesty one soon gets used to his good success. It has needed such a one for us.

Everybody should have basically the same for himself. From this it can be determined what will be achieved by a person from his own drive. No one has needed something for himself that has not been important for other people in some way.

There, people are more or less mindful in dealing with themselves and their happiness in life. The good ideas of one person are gladly adopted by others because they have been practicable. Meanwhile, everyone can learn something from his fellow men. A society has already provided us with role models for our own existence. We have perceived it in such a way and have corresponded to the good thereby, as we have got to know and experienced it. Meanwhile, we wished that it would be enough to know the own way well in order to gain a certain security for it.

This is the end of the small essay, which was written by Mathias Schneider himself from the point of view of an apparently outsider about the life and the person of the 'Art-Trash'-activist Mathias Schneider.
